Every once in a while, you’ve got to change things up. Get face-to-face with an experience outside your norm. We did that…all of us…last night on a company-hosted sunset sail aboard the beautiful Schooner Aurora, a 101′ sailboat out of Newport, Rhode Island.
Staff from all departments along with their guests filled the boat donning novelty items from sailor hats to pirate hooks, eye patches to sailor caps. It was clear early on this was going to be a fun night of antics and belly laughs. We ate and drank as the wind carried us along beautiful Narragansett Bay and the thick summer air wove its way through the passengers on deck. We laughed all night as we found new ways to relate outside our office “norm”. It was a chance to talk with people you knew not that well…and connect with some you’d soon call “friends”. The adventure left everyone happier, more enthused about the team, and better connected. It even resulted in an interview of a potential new team member!
