National Alliance on Mental Illness

Teri, one of our terrific employees at Advanced Remarketing Services, shared a presentation with us that was focused on The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). NAMI has touched the life of her and her family and touchs the lives of many others every day. When you donate your car to NAMI, you are helping them and those that they help as well. Your vehicle donation can provide someone with much needed help, whether it be someone who is suffering with a mental illness or a family member.

A message from Teri:

For those of you who don’t know, doing research on NAMI is very dear to my heart. My daughter was in a severe motor vehicle head on collision two years ago, and is struggling with a mental disorder related to that trauma, no one understands what causes the brain to do what it does. It is very difficult for me however to see her struggle.  I know that one day she will become the Jennifer that we are fighting so hard to bring back. NAMI is one of those charities that I look forward to contacting to help me through this difficult time as NAMI understands the effects of Mental Illness.

A little insight…

NAMI helps millions of Americans that are affected by mental illness and their families. They are dedicated to helping make better lives for people who have been affected, or are affected by mental illnesses. They help educate individuals, families, and educators to ensure they have all of the information and support they need.  NAMI advocates for people with mental illness and their families by shaping the national public policy. They provide people with the resources, tools and skill that they need in order to save mental health in all states. NAMI has a toll free helpline that allows them to listen to and personally respond to hundreds of thousands of requests annually. They provide free referrals, information and support. NAMI leads events to raise public awareness, such as: NAMIWalks and Mental Awareness Week.

NAMI was started in 1979 by a small group of families while gathered around a kitchen table, and now, they are the nations leading voice on Mental Health. The National Alliance on Mental Health relies on donations to help spread awareness, and to help those in need of assistance. How does your donation help you might ask?

Donating your vehicle to NAMI helps ensure that no one is alone in this fight!  Your car donation can help change the lives of patients and their families.
